Who Am I?
My name is Domas. I'm an enthusiastic polyglot developer based in Lithuania, currently in the 11th grade, with interest in automation, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps and more.
I don't just build apps though. I like to build the technology that powers other technology. Driven by a desire for extreme efficiency, reusability, and clean code, I focus on creating standardized codebases and libraries that solve real-world problems.
My Journey
-
2016-2017 (The First Spark): It all started with basic HTML. The simple act of writing lines of text and watching them instantly transform into something usable on a screen felt like magic. My dad worked (and still does) in the IT field. That also was a huge inspiration point for me.
-
2020 (The Quarantine Sandbox): When COVID-19 hit and forced everyone indoors, I turned to Unity game development. After watching YouTubers like Dani and CodyCantEatThis, I thought I could do it too. Games I made were terribly simple and admittedly awful (I even named one Terrible Architect), and my laptop was struggling with modern game engines too. I pivoted to hardware - dusting off an old Arduino and Raspberry Pi, I built everything - from a custom drawing pad to a remote calculator. Though the source code is gone, experiments like such made me the developer I am today.
-
2022-2024 (The Quiet Years): This period felt a bit like the dark ages. Despite finishing my first 8 grades with top marks, I felt uninspired and didn't create much. I was searching for real purpose in what I was doing.
-
2025-present (The Holy Revival): Changing schools changed everything. Surrounded by an incredibly motivated crowd, my passion for action instantly hooked me back in. I discovered a core philosophy that drives me to this day: Create mutual benefit. By maintaining coding projects for my school, life became easier for others, while I gained recognition and rapid experience. By teaching difficult topics of various STEM subjects to my classmates, I forced myself to understand them perfectly. Everyone wins, everyone's happy!
What I'm Engineering Now
-
Matcha Linux: Sick of bloating RAM demands and Windows bugs, I wanted to build my own lightweight Linux distribution. While optimizing an old, spare Raspberry Pi 1 to drive my school's digital bus stop and marketing system, I found that Raspbian took several minutes to boot, while Alpine Linux took only seconds on the Raspberry Pi 1. Seeing its immense potential on desktops as well, the idea of a fast, fluid and lightweight distribution called Matcha Linux was born.
-
Onlinja: I gifted the strategic board game Linja for my dad on Father's Day. I have to say, I fell in love with the gameplay even more than he did. So much so that I wanted to bring it to phones worldwide. So I built Onlinja.
-
Ahead of the Curve: I seem to have a knack for anticipating the next big thing, though it's a bit of a double-edged sword. I engineered Codebase Awareness Protocol just before Anthropic's "Skills" framework became the norm, and built an AI playlist generator at the time when Spotify cut down API access and partnered with OpenAI to do the same thing. I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but seeing the industry move exactly where I predicted makes me feel both good and bad at the same time.
My Initiatives And Achievements
I have won several competitions, including Lithuania's national IT Egzaminas contest a couple of years back. I'm also an active member of the global Hack Club community, participating intensely in summer programs like the Summer of Making (2025) and Stardance (2026), which sparked a permanent creative flame in me.
I believe that with deep dedication and hard work, anything is possible. Everything I build is open-source and hosted over on my GitHub. Feel free to reach out if you want to collaborate on a project or just chat about tech!
